F.Dostoevsky

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky (1821‑1881) is a towering giant of 19th‑century Russian literature, ranked alongside Tolstoy as two peaks of Russian letters. He rose to fame with his debut Poor Folk. Later arrested for joining an intellectual circle, he endured a mock execution and years of hard‑labour exile in Siberia, whose harsh experience profoundly shaped his writing. His major works include Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov, Notes from Underground and The Idiot. Renowned for penetrating psychological insight, he pioneered the polyphonic novel. His writings probe human inner conflicts, suffering, faith and redemption, exploring the struggle between good and evil within human nature. Carrying great literary and philosophical weight, his works exert far‑reaching influence on modernist and existentialist literature. He passed away in Saint Petersburg in 1881.

About the Product

Notes from Underground is a novella written by Fyodor Dostoevsky in 1864, widely recognized as the foundational work of existentialist literature.

The book consists of two parts. The first part, "Underground," unfolds through the inner monologue of a 40-year-old retired civil servant. Overwhelmed by deep self-loathing yet driven by intense vanity, he violently rejects rationality and utilitarianism through a fierce psychological self-analysis. He passionately declares that "man even has the right to desire what is absurd and painful," showcasing a morbid obsession with absolute freedom and personal subjectivity. The second part, "Apropos of the Wet Snow," recounts his past humiliation, awkwardness in society, and his cruel emotional damage inflicted on the prostitute Liza, laying bare the utter futility and powerlessness when his theoretical ideals collide with real life.

With penetrating insight, Dostoevsky tears open the complex, contradictory, and dark corners of modern human nature. By depicting the alienation and existential crisis of individuals in a hyper-rationalized society, he not only foresaw the spiritual malaise of the 20th century, but also laid the philosophical groundwork for his later masterpieces, including Crime and Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov.

Made from durable, high-quality 12oz canvas, with a clean open-top structure that balances everyday carry with lightweight storage. The roomy bag body and natural canvas texture make it a daily item built to last.

The bag design is printed using hand screen printing (Silkscreen Printing). Each pull is done by hand, leaving the ink on the canvas with a crisp yet subtly hand-crafted texture. Unlike industrial digital printing, the slight variations that occur during the silkscreen process are part of what makes each piece one of a kind.

Sizes are offered in two options:

  • Vertical, Small: 30 × 35 cm, handle drop 26cm
  • Vertical, Medium: 35 × 40 cm, handle drop 27cm

Adapting to different everyday carrying needs.

Colors are offered in a wide range, from basics to shades with visual character, so you can choose according to different designs and personal preferences.

We don't deliberately erase the subtle marks left during the making process; instead, we keep the texture shaped together by the material, the ink, and the hand — so that the design isn't just printed onto the item, but becomes part of the item itself.

From commuting and shopping to carrying books and everyday items, it is simple and practical, while leaving a little room for your own expression.
